Get Ready, Get Set! (Labor Preparation Series and Postpartum Super Series)
(11 classes, $105)These fun paced, greatly informative classes emphasize birth planning and informed choices for pregnancy and birth. A variety of individualized approaches and techniques are presented. Subjects are covered through lectures, films, handouts and group discussion.
Topics include relaxation and breathing patterns for labor, labor and birth positions, exercise, and nutrition, the role of the labor support person, labor variations, cesarean birth, labor medications/technology, and the physiology of birth.
Classes meet weekly and enrollment is limited to 10 couples.
New Baby, New Family! (Postpartum Series only)
(4 classes, $70)Designed for the excited (and exhausted!) new family. The focus is on the first few weeks and months of being a new parent and the difficulties and rewards of the postpartum period.
Topics include infant development, breast and bottle feeding, soothing crying babies, immunizations, baby illnesses and checkups, infant massage, baby-proofing and safety, daycare choices, and postpartum physical and emotional adjustment.

Labor Refresher Series
(4 classes, $70. Add 4 weeks post partum for only $15 more)Designed to provide an intensive review of techniques for those who have experienced at least one prepared birth. An update on new techniques and birthing alternatives is presented in addition to a discussion on sibling adjustment and past birthing experiences. VBAC information and support is included! Enrollment is limited.
Breastfeeding Education, Support and Consulting.
(1 night, $25)Whether you are certain you will breastfeed, or just want to explore your options, this class is for you! Topics include the benefits of breastfeeding, breast-feeding basics, myths, latch-on and positioning, problem-solving, returning to work, pumping and weaning. An ideal class for late pregnancy or early postpartum.
Labor/Doula Support
Foothills Childbirth believes that all women and families deserve quality support in their labor experience. Our certified instructors provide labor support to all clients. Emotional and physical support, support for the partner and assistance in communication and advocacy are commonly provided. E-mail us or call for more information at 225-6477.
Sibling Preparation Class (1 class, $25/first child, $10 additional children)
This one of a kind class is designed to prepare children ages three and up for their new role in the family. Positive sibling adjustment is facilitated through kid friendly discussion of what the child can expect of the new baby coming into their life. The class also shows how the child can help out with the new baby, and develop a sense of pride in their new Big Sister/Big Brother status.
Activities include: viewing a child appropriate birth video and creating birthday cards to welcome baby!

Children-At-Birth Class
(1 class, ages 4 and up, $45/family)When Foothills Childbirth says we can help prepare the whole family, we mean it! This wonderful class is designed for children who plan to attend the birth of their new sibling. The birthing experience is discussed from the child’s point of view in age-appropriate language, followed by a children’s birth film.
Parents are encouraged to attend!

Private Tutoring
One-on-One sessions can be arranged to meet with individuals with special needs. This might include: mothers confined to bed, adoptive parents, and others. Available upon request.
Library Resources and Speaker’s Bureau.
Foothills Childbirth has developed an extensive collection of books on pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and parenting, as well as several films on family centered childbirth. For a small rental fee, these resources are available for public use. Foothills Childbirth instructors are available to make presentations to organizations regarding the birthing process.
