We emphasize a variety of techniques for comfort during labor including relaxation and breathing patterns, the importance of movement and positioning, various tools that can be used in labor, anatomy and physiology of birth, the impact and role of the support person, risks and benefits of medications and interventions, and ways to problem solve naturally. Classes include group discussion, movies, lecture, and plenty of practice!

One 2 1/2 hour class designed to support and encourage women who are exploring or choosing to breastfeed. Topics include benefits, anatomy, what to expect in the first hours and days of baby's life, maintaining supply, latch-on and positioning, problem solving, returning to work, and pumping. Ideal for late pregnancy. Includes breastfeeding support after the baby is here!
Postpartum Series 4 weeks $95.00
Reunite with your classmates from the Labor Preparation Series after the babies are born! We focus on the first few weeks of being a new parent. Topics include breast and bottle feeding, soothing crying babies, infant massage, baby illnesses and checkups, returning to work, finding balance and adjusting to new priorities as a family and so much more. Our couples typically continue to meet long after this class has ended!

Labor (Doula) Support
FCEA believes that all women and families deserve to feel safe and supported during labor and birth. Our certified instructors are available to provide labor support at a discounted rate to all class participants. Emotional and physical support for both the mother and her partner are provided.
